Unable to view PowerPoint files in Media section using slideshow functionality

There are a few PowerPoint files in the Media section of the site. But the View as slideshow functionality doesn't seem to be working, or perhaps, doesn't support .pptx? I would try .ppt, but it looks like the Media section is locked down to admin uploads only.

Accepting an invitation to join a new community or group

This content relates to existing members who recieve an invitation via email to join another group.

An error can sometimes occur when accepting an invitation to join a group sent to you via email. Follow these simple steps:

The email contains a link that prompts you to return to the site to join.
If you click on the link in the email whilst not already being signed in to the Microsoft Partner Network, you will be prompted to either sign in, or register.
As an existing member you click on the sign in option.
If a Windows Live ID error is shown (it can be caused by a browser caching/cookie error,) close all browsers (and delete cookies if you can)
Reopen a browser, go to www.microsoftpartnernetwork.com and sign in as normal.
Then return to the email, copy the link, then paste it into the browser you have just signed in with.
You should then receive confirmation that the invitation has been accepted and you have successfully joined the group.

Tags are not case sensitive. A tag is defined the first time it is applied to content. Subsequent uses will revert to the same format as the initial time it was created.

For example, if I create a post and apply the tag "SharePoint" and this is the first time the tag has been applied it will be set to this format. If another member then creates another post and tags it "sharepoint" it will be tagged with "SharePoint"

Tags are also only displayed within the Group that they are applied within.

Word and the WYSIWYG editor

A few members have contacted us about problems with formatting when posting content.

Invariably this has been caused by pasting content from Word (or Outlook) directly into the WYSIWYG editor. To avoid malformed html being inserted either:

Paste your content from a simple text editor (such as Notepad.exe) to ensure formatting is removed
Or, use the "Paste from Word" button rather than simply CTRL + V

Occasionally you may experience a problem when signing in to the network. This is often caused by a problem with Windows Live ID cookies. Cookies can be persistent across windows or tabs. If you experience a problem at sign in:

Sign out of all Windows Live ID applications
Close all your browser sessions
Reopen a browser window
Return to the site
Sign in as usual and the issue shouldnow should now be rectified

If the steps above fail to fix the problem, delete your browser cookies via Internet option and retry...
