Following some feedback I've had, I've posted a picture of the often used Microsoft "BI Burger" slide.

The graphic is intended to be a pictorial representation at the highest level of the Microsoft BI suite of products or "stack" to better facilitate discussions around customer architecture and proposed software solutions.

I'm wondering:

  • Have you see this before and do you use it in your presentations?
  • Does it make sense and resonate with yourselves and your propects/customers?
  • Would it be valuable to keep updating this image moving forwards and how could it be improved?

You can view the image in the BI media library:

Lookig forward to lots of feedback on this one..!

I have to say that is the first time I've seen that slide, but I like it!

It does a great job of summing up how the various components relate to each other and will probably cut a fair amount of talking out of my next presentation :-)

It would be good to see an updated version that takes in to account the abolition of PPS and it's inclusion with MOSS...would that make it a pure Office burger filling then?!

Cheers

Rich,

Some great feedback, thanks!  Any more for any more..?

What I'd need to add is that I have a version of the image with the pure Office burger filling!  I chose not to post that as PerformancePoint server is still going to be around and exist as a product up to the release of the next version of SharePoint, "14".  Even then, I expect downgrade rights to be granted, plus, I’d be hopeful of a shiny new “PerformancePoint Services” logo or brand identity to incorporate at that point as a replacement.

Therefore, I’m not promoting PerformancePoint as being abolished and I’m still using the PerformancePoint product logo in my main slide deck, just positioning it slightly differently explaining that it’s an ECAL value add part of SharePoint 2007.

Chirs,

Tim Rowe / Dynamics AX shared this slide with UK partners in a BI session and I now use it with both Prospects and Sales team.

For Dynamics prospects, it would be great to have a version showing Dynamics and "Other' or '"Legacy" instead of listing other ERP solutions...

Thanks, Jo
